Back pain treatment

The first line of treatment for back pain is bed rest. It helps the alignment of the back bone. It prevents compression of the vertebrae. It prevents inflammation. It prevents degeneration. It helps revitalization of  the total entity.

This should be followed by strict guidelines for food and life style fixed by Astang Ayurveda. Food like black gram, white rice (Basmati rice), curd, ripe banana, white flour, egg, crab, chilled food worsens the disease. Like wise life style like day sleep, late night bed, prolonged standing and sitting, stereo type posture damages the health of the vertebral column.

Bone is considered too be the site of Vata. It is nourished by medicines prepared with bitter, astringent herbs and fatty materials extracted from herbs or animal products. The fatty nature of the oil or ghee counters the dry nature of Vata. When the medicated ghee or oil is warm in temperature it subsides the cold nature of vata, it subsides the pain due to inflammation.

The different herbs present in the compound medicines helps toning the muscle, ligaments. They prevent deposition of osteophytes.

Application of medicated enema eliminates the exaggerated vata, along with the feces. The enema called Asthapan basti rehabilitates the neurological function derailed earlier due to the deficit caused by vertebral compression.

Other Ayurvedic treatments meant for back pain management manages some other consequences like, burning sensation, muscle wasting, stiffness, numbness, swelling etc.

All  the above mentioned treatments never include any type of surgical interference and manual manipulation of the vertebral column.

Back Pain Treatment

http://www.astangayurveda.com/pivd-treatment-protocol/

I strongly advocate to avoid laminectomy or discectomy  (in short spinal surgery) if it is not badly necessary for the doctor to make a decision. But why?

1. There is risk.

2. There is chance of complication.

3. There is chance of failure.

4. There is chance of recurrence.

5. There is chance of "no scope for further treatment".

6. Only surgery cannot help without the support of physiotherapy.

Back pain treatment can be classified into medicinal, surgical, physiotherapy and alternative medicines. Now a days Ayurvedic treatment for low back pain has come out as a big solution.

All of the above problems can be by-passed with the help of Ayurveda Panchakarma treatment at Astang Ayurveda ( Visit http://www.astangayurveda.com/ ).

1. The treatment is done with some internal medicine and external soft touch treatment. There is no risk.

2. The herbs are natural like the vegetarian food and the treatment are very soft, external, sophisticated, logic based, time tasted. There is no chance of complications.

3. The Ayurvedic treatment may fail in handling the disease, but it will not leave the disease devastated like any other treatment, specially the surgery. At this point, with no success it is not a failure.

4. There is least chance of recurrence of the low back pain, as the the muscles, nerves, ligaments are toned with the different types of Ayurvedic treatments.

5. As Ayurveda panchakarm treatment is a natural treatment and does not interfere into the physiology or pathology of the disease, any further treatment can be taken to manage PIVD.

6. Vyayam cikitsa is an ancient practice in Ayurveda which is similar to physiotherapy. Thus Ayurveda is a complete package for the treatment of PIVD.

Next time I will come with the line of treatment of back pain.

What is back pain

Hi, Friends,
I am back again. From the point back, I remember low back pain. Most of the low back pain may be the result of spondylosis, prolapsed intervertebral disc (PIVD), slip disc etc. In modern medicine there is no such successful treatment for the problem. Ayurveda has established some sort of solutions which gives a permanent rehabilitation unlike the modern spinal surgery.

A failure case of spinal surgery. Note the scar mark at the centre. Finally the case came to Astang Ayurveda.

Just go through the following paragraph-

PID: Prolapsed inter vertebral Disc. A night mare for the victim who has ever come across PID. In this case you may experience pain in low back, burning sensation in low back, pain radiating from low back to legs, numbness in toes , legs, weakness in standing, paresis etc. Your doctor may say you there is stenosis, bulging, herniation, compression of spinal chord. It is true. They may suggest you spinal surgery as treatment. It is half true. Because with surgery the compression will be removed, not the process of compression. That is, the herniated mass will be removed and the pressure will be released. But what about the process of compression of the lumbar ( low back ) vertebrae? With time there will be compression followed by pain and other difficulties.

Astang Ayurveda panchakarma treatment helps you avoiding the risky surgical interference, rehabilitating the pain and preventing compression. Its specialized neuro care activities SNAYU takes care of the problem.

If the panchakarma fails you have another chance called surgery. If the surgery fails....?

Next time I will come with the solution.

Maithuna(Sex):

Maithuna or sex is one of the vital basic needs of life. It is otherwise called Grahysthya Bramhacharya. Lots of guidelines have been described regarding fair maithuna (sex). Lots of contradictions have been fixed for maithuna.

Maithuna should remain within limit so that it cannot destabilize the physical and mental state. Favourable situation for maithuna is highly emphasized in Ayurveda.  It is advised to have maithuna on every 3rd day in vasanta (spring season) and sarata (Autumn season) ritu, with a gap of a fortnight in rainy and summer season and according to own interest in hemanta (Dew) and sisisra (Winter) ritu.

After maithuna bath, moon bath, milk, non-veg soup, wine, juice, sleep are advised. Age of the partner should not be less than 16 years or more than 70 years.

Many more have been described regarding maithuna. Maharshi Vatsayana, Charaka, Sushruta, Vagbhatta have written a lot over it.
